Resumen

La medición del capital social es un asunto complejo, y representa una práctica muy criticada por un grupo importante de autores, sobre todo del ámbito económico. En especial, Durlauf (2002) y Durlauf y Fafchamps (2004) sostienen que se trata de un concepto poco definido, con datos pobremente medidos, que vuelven poco plausibles las relaciones de causa-efecto hipotetizadas. Además, según los mismos autores, tampoco están claros los impactos socio-económicos producidos por el capital social.
